Painful scenes sum up the extent of the suffering experienced by displaced Gazans living in tents as the second winter storm of the season hit the war-torn enclave.

One of thousands of tents, barely standing, is now submerged in 60 centimeters of cold water after heavy rains hit the region. Inside, a newborn baby, just one day old, clings to life in the arms of a mother who has nowhere else to go. The ground beneath them is soaked.

The heavy rainfall caused by the weather depression led to flooding in parts of the Kuwait Field Hospital, with water reaching the operating department and hindering medical operations.
