So, I won’t be able to write anything serious for the Aggie Inc. Substack this week. I’ve gone into focus mode. In the meantime, here are some things I’ve been enjoying recently, if you’re looking for inspiration.

What about you?

I used to think of VCs as this mysterious group of people, who existed to give you money, if only you managed to impress them somehow. If you do too, this post will help.

One of the best things about being a solopreneur in 2025 is the sheer number of tools and apps you can use to be productive without hiring more people.

In this post, I wanted to highlight some of my favourite ones!

So I’ve now heard of silicon valley, quantum valley, and hydrogen valley. What other valleys are there out there?

Sometimes I have trouble explaining to my tech friends why physicists have trouble adjusting to industry.

Hot take: I think companies sometimes underestimate how much it matters whether people feel proud to say where they work.

Can you imagine if Planck chose a less cool sounding name, how different our industry might be today.

Some advice, on how to take advice, from Derek Sivers.

Communication for deep tech startups is tricky. The standard advice is to abstract away the technical details and focus on customer problems.

But in deep tech, that’s easier said than done. And even when it’s possible, it’s often not enough.

At some point, a business needs to hire or outsource some of the work.

But what work do I outsource, and how do I explain to the other person what to do and how to do it?

I know how to do everything, but do I know how to teach it?

Quantum computing isn't the only technology being developed that takes advantage of quantum mechanics.

It's useful to have some map of how all of these technologies fit together.

People always talking about wildlife in Australia, but Canadian wildlife is scary. The geese here are no joke. And yesterday I saw a baby fox fighting with the neighbour’s cat.
