Is that really such a crazy thing to want? Isn’t that common sense? Listen to Jenni’s story (starts 18:11) and tell me what you think Congress should do. I want to hear from you.

And if you are willing, please say a prayer for Jenni and her family and all of the families in her situation. 🙏 ✝️

We are literally asking Congress to pass a specific and narrow piece of legislation so that judges have the option to allow some spouses of U.S. citizens who aren’t a threat to anyone and who have been in the country for decades to stay and contribute to their American families and the economy.

We aren’t asking for immigration reform. We aren’t talking about open borders. We aren’t part of some big think tank agenda.

But Congress’s inaction means that their daughter, Mackenzie, will graduate from high school this spring without her dad in the audience because he was forced to leave the country. It’s heartbreaking and unnecessary.

One of our members, Jenni Rivera, was just featured on This American Life. Please listen. You’ll see what I mean. Jenni and Fidel have been together for years. Fidel is a successful electrician with no criminal history.

We go to Congress not to protest or to have a shouting match, but just to tell a common story that our U.S. citizen members live in fear that their families will be separated.

Would you like to hear the kind of stories that we tell to Congress? Here's how.

Republicans we talked to in Congress understand that the same way Democrats do. And it helps that my members aren’t professional advocates, they’re just Americans, wives and husbands, trying to keep their families together.

Your response was overwhelmingly supportive and it proved what I tell anyone who will listen: we have more in common together as people of faith and as families just trying to make ends meet than politicians and the mainstream news media wants us to believe.

A few days ago, I shared an update about our work with Congress to fix a loophole created by the Clinton administration that allows spouses of U.S. citizens to be deported even if they have no criminal record and have lived in the country for decades.
