There seems to be a generally positive reaction to the twist of Moriarty being Holmes mentor (probably because this isn’t canon). There’s a similar reveal in the film adaptation of The Seven Percent Solution that I’d be curious to get you gauge on that as it was handled quite differently.

It's inevitable.😁

I like to think it's because it's a terrible trope and writers realize that audiences won't accept it anymore.

It is a great city, I’d definitely recommend a return visit if you travel this side of the pond! It’s sometimes easy to take for granted, but always exciting to see Oxford feature on the big screen. Here’s Radcliffe Square in the movie and how it is this evening.

I've seen it and didn't like it, but it's been a long time. I'm very much looking forward to trying it again.

This episodes subtitle should have been “Puttin’ on the Rizz!”

Christopher Columbus would later return to Oxford to film scenes for Harry Potter in nearby Christchurch College. So definitely connections between the schools in both movies. A side note, I get to regularly walk past these locations. 😊

The film was popular enough at the time to get a Mad Magazine parody. They too noticed the similarities to Indiana Jones.

Loving this. A few notes. Sandhurst is a military academy, probably equivalent to West Point. Great recommendation for Rathbone Bruce Christmas radio show, I’ll be listening to this closer to the holidays! archive.org/details/sher...
The school exterior location in YSH is Radcliffe Square in Oxford.

Sure Spielberg, Levinson and Columbus are all big names behind the scenes but I perked up when I saw Mike Ploog credited for art direction. He did creature designs on a wide range of films from John Carpenter’s The Thing to Shrek!

😂

We got so much mileage out of that. And it may have even spilled into next week's episode too.

JEALOUS!

I've only been to Oxford once, and then for less than a day, but what a beautiful town.

Cool! Thanks for the extra info!
