Pretty simple rule of thumb when wondering why the Trump administration does anything is to ask two questions:
1) is it racist?
Or
2) are they stupid?
Tends to cover most Trump administration stuff.

Not sure what it’s like at home, but from the international perspective, a little more vocal Democratic condemnation of the entire shitshow in general would be appreciated.
