The platform should automate it. The technology not only exists but is a commodity by now.

I don't think that accurately labelling a lie would be partiality. It's reporting. The news org that accurately labels lies will get CALLED partial by the lying party, but being called something (especially by a lying party) doesn't make you that thing.

Maybe the problem is overly rigid and/or simplistic rules for how impartiality is achieved/demonstrated. And also, maybe, too much fear of being CALLED biased. Of course a publicly funded media org such as the BBC has a more difficult challenge than private ones, I do recognise that.

So setzen wir diesem endlosen "Antizionismus-ist-nicht-Antisemitismus"-Kabuki-Theater endlich ein Ende. Wir spielen einfach nicht mehr mit. Es ist alles Hass auf Juden. 2/2

Is that Matt Taibbi?
December 14, 2025 at 6:35 AM
Sure. One could predict that. That doesn't make the lab-leak hypothesis racist.
December 14, 2025 at 6:18 AM
I can't comment on those particulars, and yes, there was some racism in the discourse, but none of that makes a perfectly reasonable early hypothesis racist or justifies making it taboo. Tom Cotton or no Tom Cotton, the way it turned into a taboo was surreal to someone watching from across the pond.

3/3 insane and/or MAGA like Nate Silver or Matt Taibbi, to still understand that the coercive culture on the left was (and, judging from replies here, still is) ALSO a problem. 3/3
