Reluctant urbanist (I love cities; I just wanna enjoy my life, not fight for it!)
It is an especially horrific comment section in that group.

THIS GUY.

Nah, it was clear I’d end up in an unpleasant back-and-forth and I didn’t want to add that to my day. There were a couple commenters responding and making great points, though, so I gave ‘em some likes.

Everyone gets to endanger lives, as a little treat.

There was even one person that made a data-based coherent argument that people ignore speed limits and travel as fast as makes sense in the built environment, but then said that mean we should RAISE SPEED LIMITS rather than change the built environment.

Nice!

My favourite lattes are a block away from work on one of my easy routes, and the Handlestash has increased my stops there big time!

Tip: If using a paper cup, keep handy one of those little sticks or something similar that covers the hole, and you’re all good.

That sounds terrible! 🙄

Yes, I’m familiar. As I said, that is a reasonable concern, but I think it’s telling that the loudest opposition from govt (AB, ON) and civilians alike is that they would prefer to endanger others without consequence.

I think that’s a reasonable concern to address.

Shockingly, the folks in the comment section didn’t seem worried about that at all.
December 2, 2025 at 1:45 PM
Totally right on all counts! 😂
December 2, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Yeah, there must be a form or something. Let me know when you hear back!
December 2, 2025 at 1:29 PM
Without any doubt.

Honestly, it would be significantly more effective.

Enforcement of traffic laws is a “cash grab” but also we need to “see some tax contribution” from cyclists because we need more money for roads.

Same here! I got it for lattes, but most days it’s got my phone in it.

I am so impressed you just had this in your back pocket.

He ran up to the director and struck a dramatic pose. “Oh no!!! THE BEES ARE COMING!!!”

He said this to two more parents on the way to his classroom, then scooter in to tell his teachers and classmates.

We are all bewildered. But thank you, imaginary bees, for your service this AM.

I hope you haven’t been chased by any of these cyclists!
