No kings. No kings allowed.

(Wish I knew who did the original art, but I did the “not allowed” red circle/slash edit. If you know, please tell me so I can credit!)

Show me a picture on your phone that has your energy. Not a selfie.

That sounds wonderful. This is the closest I get to chonky amphibians:

You know, 90-year-olds sometimes look like they know more than you do. Supposedly Mom is just showing me something in the garden—or is she?

“Do not cite the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written.” (Read online somewhere, don’t recall where.)

What’s a book—or series of books—that you loved as a kid that almost nobody seems to read or even remember nowadays?

@mitch.social, is this your art? And if so, may I use this adaptation of it on June 14th? “Kings not allowed” is the message :-)

That’s the California flag… the bear is a grizzly and is based on a specific, individual bear named Monarch from the 19th century.

Oh I like that! I thought I was the only person who took, um, shall we say brave exam selfies, so this is reassuring.

Usable (and unusable) color always gets my attention. Today was a particularly bad moment in color design. Captured from today’s Daily Dose of Internet.

My Mom’s home has a strong wild ecosystem. Here, a young Common Spotted Whiptail (Aspidoscelis gularis). When older, the faint spots in the dark stripes will be much more vivid. They are super-fast. #Lizards

@freyathewolf.bsky.social Freya, my husband discovered this lovely creature in our garage in Central Texas. He said there was no rattle, and to me it says “bull snake” or “rat snake” or some-such (probably likes the local rodent population). By the time I arrived it had disappeared. Should I worry?
