yeah, arc raiders is interesting because they're walking a real tightrope between accessibility for non no-lifers and extraction weirdoes, and keeping that zoo fed is something nobody has managed before. bf6 has to navigate success in ways those teams have never dealt with before.

I don’t think we’ll know that for a while. These are as much user engagement holds as they are retail releases. Acti was barreling toward this eventuality for years (and this is the second black ops game to do this - remember black ops 4?). The slop and the state of the game are separate issues.

I think kotick would be pushing AI use more aggressively honestly. In the case of BO7, I think it’s much more likely franchise/acti leadership are pushing for AI use to look good to MS rather than following a top down decree.

Are you really suggesting Bobby Kotick’s activision would be carefully vetting and slow walking AI slop in call of duty?

black ops 6 was the biggest launch month they ever had. and modern warfare 3 (prior to the acquisition closing) also demonstrated a sharp decline from the previous year. this is stuff in motion for a while.

plenty of people are slow-faded out of their extremely high profile corporate jobs. in fact, playstation has done it to a number of executives this generation. and last generation.

This is a fucking crime.

Why would it be cheaper for people to make their own? Also do some digging into why someone might not take anything he says seriously.

Is the steam machine going to be more expensive than people want it to be? Probably! Is that valve’s fault? Not really!

as of last year the CDC started reporting loss of sense of smell in some flu patients, which is news to me.
