Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the most powerful gaming experiences I've had in years. Bursting at the seams with creativity and poignancy. #forthosewhocomeafter

The Naked Gun (2025) is great. I can't remember laughing that hard in a cinema. I sincerely hope it ends up as a box office success, the movie world has been sorely lacking this kind of "1 billion stupid jokes written cleverly" humour.

When Spaceballs 2 comes out, Mel Brooks will be 100 years old. Will he be the oldest ever active filmmaker?

Now it's finished, I can confidently say #Andor is the best thing Star Wars has ever done, by miles. It's not even close.

Very occasionally, a piece of media inspires great joy in me about the fact that I'm alive in a time where I can experience it.

So anyway #Andor is spectacular. In my view, the best thing Star Wars has ever done. And it's not even close.

Days like today are when I like to make some of my opinions public... I think significantly less of people who still buy Harry Potter stuff. Every time you pay for a game, book, movie, tourist experience, etc., that disgusting bigot gets a little richer and humanity a little poorer. #transrights

Good luck to everyone doing #ldjam! I sadly won't be participating, but I hope there's some really cool ideas out there.

Extremely late to the party but the wife and I watched the first few episodes of Andor last night. Turns out, the thing everyone was saying might be the best thing Star Wars has ever done might just be the best thing Star Wars has ever done. Who'd have thought?

For those that don't know, I have a Youtube channel that lives in the overlap between #chiptune and #prog (I make 8-bit covers of prog songs), and I just released a full album cover of Dream Theater's Images and Words. You can check it out here: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis... #8bit #dreamtheater

My 28 Years Later prediction:

1. Things are relatively stable
2. It is very obvious and clearly indicated to everyone that nobody should ever do the thing
3. Someone does the thing
4. Oh no zombies

It does remind me of the story of Mansa Musa - man too rich goes around completely fucking up everything with his money

In a way I kinda hope Musk buys Hasbro. It would probably be good for my bank balance if I stopped playing Magic the Gathering, and TTRPG-wise I've already moved to Pathfinder.

You ever just sit there and think to yourself, "I feel so lucky to live in a time where I can experience <a thing>"? A song/album, a movie, a TV show/episode, a video game, a YouTube video, a flavour of food, etc...

I've been thinking a bit about how lovely the blocking feature is on here... but the devil's advocate in me is asking "how do you balance permablocking and the fact that people can change for the better?" - it's ultimately not likely to be relevant in enough cases to need a solution #showerthoughts

The fact I can make "timestamp ordered posts by people I follow" the default view makes this easily one of the better social media options right now.

Two years after moving from... *that site* to Mastodon, I'm now also on here! Feels like *that site*, but from before it went all "late-stage capitalism".
