While Vermont was its own republic between 1777 and 1791, it minted its own currency. Here's one example of a "Vermont Copper", which was produced in 1785.

The Nebraska Sandhills are the Western hemisphere's largest dunes and one of the last totally untouched prairie left in North America.
Nebraska Sandhills, 2004. Beautiful grass-stabilized dunes today, but they were unvegetated and active multiple times

Wow I did not know that there is no limit on private donations to parties in Germany. Interesting how they still spend much less than U.S. campaigns.
