As Alex's eyes drift closed, Martha catches Henry's gaze, giving him a meaningful look, glancing between Alex and Ellie, who was quietly cuddled into her cousin's lap. Henry nods, immediately understanding. He kisses the top of Alex's head. "Alex love," he whispers. "D'you want to rest in our room?" "'M fine," Alex mutters, making an effort at opening his eyes and sitting up. "All right," Henry shrugs. "Then you can stay here, and I'll go take a nap." "No nap!" Ellie announces, which causes a chuckle from most everyone in the room. Henry disentangles himself from Alex and walks over to his niece. "Ellie," he starts softly as he crouches down in front of her. "I think Uncle Alex needs a nap, and I know I would like to rest also. Will you help me read him a story?" "Yeah!" Ellie brightens and holds her arms up. Henry easily lifts her into his arms. "Alex." His voice is gentle yet commanding. "Come with us." Alex stands immediately, at which Bea raises her eyebrows but stays silent. Henry shifts his niece in his arms and takes Alex’s hand. “We’ll see you all for dinner.”
