Given that our moralizing sources complain about rich romans slathering up in eastern unguents, I like to imagine they’d really smell like pumpkin spice lattes

The curve would be for torque or whatnot, but I’m not a physicist. But agreed — all the presses I’ve seen examples of in archaeology look like they’d have horizontal bars that an animal or a person would push/pull while walking around in a circle around the press.

Elsa already did, in The Last Crusade

Handle of a crank for an olive oil press? Not sure it would be that vertical though.

I’ve heard so many bad things about iOS 26 that I’ve stayed far away

You would think “dessert looking guy” would be unambiguous but alas that can apply to multiple pokemon

!!! Sulpicia may be my favorite ancient poet, so I must grab this book immediately. Tiny corpus but so interesting imo.

“Dulcius urbe quid est?” rings in my head whenever I’m dragged out camping or to lovely — but cold — mountains.

This is so interesting! That one Buddha head from a few years ago has lived in my mind rent-free for a while, but this additional work suggesting that the temple of Isis was used as a cross-denominational worship space is wildly cool.

I’d have hated that. I don’t mind villain protagonists — but only where there’s something interesting to say or that the audience is meant to know they’re a villain. Not when… they’re just a hero protagonist. Feels me with ick bc it’s justification for awful things.

Hmmm. It’s funny bc I stopped covering those books bc I felt that each of my articles was just criticism and it didn’t feel rewarding. Particularly as I was not having it with the Thrawn worship.

Some of them. I didn’t read the most recent med but I’ve read the ones with Pryce and the ones with Annie

One more extract in case you don’t want to read the whole thing (but please do, haha).

That’s the problem I can’t even get you upset with calamari jokes. It’s not fair 😂
December 3, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Ok I looked up the previous releases, I hadn’t seen the ones since Hoth. And the Endor ones probably the most sensible wearables since Hoth imo.

1) huh I didn’t realize they did this yearly!

2) Billie!!! Wow, those promo photos.

HEY that’s an escalation

I can’t find a gif of the missile being fired at the Raddus but pretend that’s here.
