Artist, Ceramicist, Beekeeper, Former Seattlite now back in the Adirondacks. Looking for what makes life wholesome.
Give it to the Smithsonian to create a permanent timeline of how we got here. Pics and profiles of every living bad actor who enabled Trump, politicians and billionaires, end with the heroes, and current events/people setting things right. Let visitors see the gaudy space so we #NeverForget

I think he just used the words “we/our” instead of “I/my” whenever he referred to NYC. Trump has been shunned by NYC for so long, I suspect Mamdani subtly including him as a New Yorker is something he has desperately wanted for a long time.

They were the 8 with the least to lose strategically while the others can safely politic their no votes. No way this happened without the majority of dems support. I feel so sad. I wanted to feel optimistic for a little longer than 5 days. We’ve been protesting at the wrong group of people 😟

Omg how painful 😩

When he is gone, I hope they turn the ballroom into a permanent Smithsonian exhibit detailing our history of how we got here, featuring all the bad actors and, hopefully, how we clawed our way back so it will never happen again. Perfect place for his official portrait to be on display.

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social I’ve heard mention that swearing in a new member by the Leader is a formality and that any state or federal judge can swear her in. Is this true and if so, why not do that?

lol. I needed that laugh right now 🤭

The ride was fine. Finding a place to park was quite problematic. Came up from Tacoma for the Sounders game and tried Angle Lake (a little before 5pm) and garage was packed with a continuous line of cars looking for a spot. Had to drive to Tukwila and found one open spot in the lot 😅

Wonder what Thom is doing now and if he still thinks that way.

Why is it important? Because the other kids not at the cool table (who don’t blindly worship them, ahem) will be watching and the door will suddenly be cracked open to everyone being a part of the community in spite of our differences. It’s really that simple. And for some reason it pisses you off.
September 6, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Here. I’ll simplify. I think it would be an amazing gesture if one of the kids sitting at the “cool” table, went and welcomed the new kid instead of being afraid that if they did so, then the new kid might be more cool thereby diminishing their collective coolness.

I’m also not going to determine what I will or will not say based on a fellow poster’s shortsightedness of the value of the Democratic Party showing unity across all roles and offices, whether they are “in line” or not. The message is so freaking basic.

And it clearly bothers you that I responded to his hypocrisy (we deserve better) when someone who lives, works and hopefully leads in his greater community is offering something better on a silver platter. And now you seem to imply I don’t have the right to speak my mind on someone’s public page.

You don’t need me. You need books. I’d suggest starting with Joyce Vance’s “Giving Up is Unforgivable” and Heather Cox Richardson’s “Democracy Awakening” Both authors are historians and have expert knowledge on our govt, the law and how we got here.

This kind of petty name calling is worthy of Twitter. You don’t understand our history if you think Dems are blameless. There were actions they could have taken but for “decorum’s” sake they shared their outrage instead and did nothing. I choose to learn from history, not lay back and play victim.

Well…if that’s your translation of what I’ve said, then that explains a lot about why we are getting nowhere in this convo. A bizarre reply at best.
September 6, 2025 at 10:41 AM
They let the repubs control the narrative. They didn’t plan ahead and relied too much on decorum which never works with bullies. Seriously, if you aren’t able to take a critical look at the mistakes made by the dems, then you are a part of the problem. Self reflection and evaluation is healthy.

I’m just not a little yes man soldier democrat. The idea that we can’t disagree with the party - when all this happened on their watch over the past 40 years is a part of the problem. Why not vote/work towards something better within our own party? Why are you so convinced that we don’t need change?
September 5, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Jeffries said “we” and I followed up in kind.
With that attitude you’re right. Nothing will change at all. I do believe that we deserve better than what Jeffries and Schumer et all are providing. Change has to begin somewhere. Why not NYC? I do count. I matter. I’m sorry you think that you don’t.
