Threads has 3 big issues:
- lack of compelling narrative to switch: people are leaving X because of all of the same issues that Meta platforms have
- large overlap with IG audience that is not used to any meaningful discussion and simply reposts pics
- UI/UX is not nearly as "snappy" as X/BlueSky
