New favourite geometry node set up, it is for assigning random vertex colours to islands but multiplied by the stored color so that I can still bake the ao to vertex colours without needing to repaint the entire thing
then I just change the seed or the color ramp until I am happy with how it looks
This node network reads an existing "Color" attribute, generates a random color per mesh island, maps it through a color ramp set to constant to act as a color palette then multiplies it with the original color, captures the result as a Face Corner attribute, and stores it back to geometry for output.
