This is unfortunately so true and part of why I’m glad to just be making video games now. As depressing as this is, it’s worse the closer you are to it.

I am so fucking bothered by this word for the most pedantic of reasons, namely, the Latin verb plus the French version of what was Latin noun. Like why the difference, pick one. At least it's not a Latin+Greek made up word, but this just irks me so much and sounds jargony for no reason.

The Zitron piece is very angy, per usual, but I did find this insight spot-on. People are curious, and so much common use I see involves asking about x and then conversing to learn about x. Truly wish Google had committed to better search instead of better ad deployment device.

Shoutout to the #Civ reference as well, critical as it is. Our fictions and our systems represent one vision of the world, and it's important to be critical of them, as much as we love them.
