GLP-1RA and DPP4i do not increase pancreatitis risk vs. SGLT2i, but both are linked to a small rise in biliary disease risk in real-world data from >1 million patients with type 2 diabetes.

Children with type 1 diabetes and familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) are at extreme risk for cardiovascular disease. Despite checking lipids regularly, FH remains mostly unrecognized and untreated.

BMI correlated with increased risk of islet autoantibodies (which typically precede symptomatic type 1 diabetes) but only after infancy. The association was dependent on HLA-DR-DQ haplogenotype.
