The book always felt relaxed, which I liked, but now feels like Hickman ran out of time and is wrapping it up quick as he can (we never got any discussion/reaction about what just happened to Mysterio!).

At least the finale will be 40 pages. That oughta help. Shame we gotta wait until Feb 28, tho’.

The only reason I can’t agree with you is that every time I say “This is my new favorite thing Kieron Gillen has written” he proceeds to write something else. THE POWER FANTASY has been my favorite series since it debuted last year.

But anyway: Love DIE.

Lotta great books in there but what surprised me most was seeing copies of HEPCATS collections.

Actually I think this is fake. @kevinmkruse.bsky.social posted it too and then realized it wasn’t real.

As I think on it further, it really is a hell of an unusual marketing deal. Fortnite’s owner was apparently so down to have QT make a tie-in film for them that they were willing to have it placed *after the credits*.

Yeah, I knew the reference (though I have no idea how), which made it all the more mind-boggling. That’s some pretty crass advertising for Mr. Auteur Film Director.

Maybe the Fortnite ad is why we got the KB:TWBA release at all? Like how whole music videos exist because someone swigs Coke. Dunno.

I said the same thing.

Hopefully going tomorrow—and actually trying to get Joe to see it. He’s never watched a Tarantino film!

What’s the deal with conservatives and the Federalists, anyway? John Adams here, the Federalist Society there, etc. You’d think they’d feel like the intellectual heirs of Jefferson’s Democratic-Republicans, even if those people were the direct ancestors of the modern Democratic Party.

I confess I did not understand the proper context of this quote and have wrongly used it, so I appreciate this post.

I’m so tired of your damn milquetoaste-centrist takes, Matthew!

This was my entry era, too! Tho’ I started earlier, with #350. Good times.

‘Bout to move to NY and run against Jeffries myself just on the principle that someone should.

Oh nice, Storygraph. 👍

I read through… I want to say issue 10 of this run? Dunno. But yeah, much as I like some of the concepts (Trinity, the King of America), it does read slow and disjointed, much like King’s BATMAN run.
