It's been almost half a year since I lost my job. I wasn't in a rush, but it's time to update my portfolio and start looking for a new one. To start, here are three illustrations I made for a competition in the meantime (I didn't win ;)).

I still have a strong feeling that I do not really understand the problem, so I pictured it for us, and now is your turn to point me where I am wrong. Or maybe it is resolved? :) on the left it is how it looks "in game" on the right how sprites are cut.

Render, materials and 'texturing' straight from MagicaCSG, with some minor color adjustments in post.

I don't think it is the best use of this program, but in MagicaCSG you can, in about 1,5 h from start to finish, make something like this:
