50 years ago today, the Khmer Rouge entered Phnom Penh on 17 April 1975, proclaiming Day One. Initially welcomed by war-weary civilians, they promptly forcibly evacuated cities, setting off one of the gravest tragedies of the 20th century, leading to 2 million deaths. #CambodianGenocide #NeverForget
