Looks like Chatfield WILL draw back in tonight -- he was activated off IR. Now, the decision has to be made on who draws out. Rod Brind'Amour told me earlier that Nystrom is going to stay in the lineup. So, Reilly or Nikishin will sit. My guess is Nikishin.

3 goals allowed on 16 shots for Andersen. 1st one was unlucky. Next two were breakaways. None of them bad goals. Yet, Freddie didn't play either of the two well. As I said after the Edmonton game, goaltending is a concern.

Blake starts the play with a great steal in the corner to the right of the Wild goal. Then after the puck gets back to the point, he redirects the Walker wrist shot through Wallstedt for a 2-1 game. Canes have pretty well dominated the period. Need to get another one.

Canes have had the puck for basically the entire period. Stankoven has had three great looks. Carrier was alone in front of the net. Blake just rang the post. Aho fed the puck into the dead slot on the power play. Nothing.

That's how you're +31 in power play opportunities. The Wild got away with a clear high stick to Miller by Erikson Ek.

3 minutes of power play time -- 55 seconds at 5-on-3 -- without a goal. But, it looked good. plenty of chances. The precision isn't yet there. But, it was good and it looks to be a little different set up.

Johannson has made two doorstep saves, but I think Carolina just hasn't really had a sense of urgency about those tries. Blake was soft on the first and Jost couldn't bury the second. That one was the best save of the night for the TBL goalie
