This tweet from Vivek should alleviate any biopharma concerns about what’s coming to the FDA. If anything, the worry will be FDA drug approval standards are lowered too much.

My view of the evolving social media landscape ie X and Bluesky:

There should be ways to make FDA oversight of drug development more efficient/faster, particularly in preclinical and early stages. How many times do we see FDA delay or halt a program for arcane reasons.

What I wouldn’t favor is eliminating entirely the FDA’s role in assessing drug efficacy.

Data-DXd may turn out to benefit lung cancerpatients, but $AZN and Daiichi Sankyo disrespect the participants in their clinical trial by referring to side-effect related deaths as "Grade 5 events."
