Institutional knowledge is particularly vital for positive outcomes, as it's often the best source of information. In an age of frequent layoffs, this presents a real challenge, as the most valuable information is being pushed out. Companies are increasing their risks in ways they don't even see.

I really think that a lot of these people have become so caught up in their own lies, that they don't even know the difference between their lies and reality anymore.

There’s an open question of what happened first, it could be an uncontained engine failure, or a pylon failure that caused the engine to separate and the wing damage.

From the evidence that’s public, I don’t think there’s a clear indication which happened.

Yes, per the last public briefing the NTSB gave. They didn’t give any hint as to why the pylon separated, but that does seem to be how the engine came off.

Regrettably, I didn't get to know him all that well, though we crossed paths on occasion due to overlapping projects. He was incredibly brilliant and passionate about his work. I wish I had made the effort to work with him more.

When people in power call empathy a flaw, what they’re really saying is that cruelty serves their interests better. We should never let that idea go unchallenged. Empathy isn’t optional - it’s what keeps us human.

Empathy isn’t softness; it’s the discipline of seeing the world through another’s eyes. It’s what allows societies to cooperate, to build trust, to choose care over indifference.

Having spent quite a few years in TN (until a few years ago), I very much saw how dangerous it was becoming. It seems to just be getting worse and worse.

Some really good people, but not enough to overcome the toxicity/hate that’s poisoning the state - unfortunately.

You weren’t kidding - it’s 40 pages, but worth every minute to read. Very well written and reasoned.

I do enjoy reading judges that have lost patience.

I have a bad habit of still using it, though more out of habit / tradition than anything. I should try to break that habit eventually.

I've been lucky enough to not have that happen to me yet, though I've certainly seen it. It honestly feels a bit useless to post here at times.
