Was going to drive to Jodrell Bank for Katy's Birthday. One look at the road outside covered by snow and the M62 being down to one lane over the Pennines suggests not a good idea.

Happy Birthday @katyabateman.bsky.social

The weather at the football was awful today. Doncaster vs Cheltenham showed how a strong wind can make even the most simple pass unpredictable.

Kicking the ball forward and seeing it loop back behind you must be so disheartening.

Off to the regular visit to York Cat Cafe with Katy. I wonder if we will get there this week as last time Katy projectile vomited in the car covering herself mainly so we had to head for home.

Always 'fun' in York near Christmas trying to get Katy's wheelchair past yuletide intoxicated crowds.

Ireland vs Wales in the second leg of Euro 2025 play-off final was a really entertaining match.

Llongyfarchiadau Cymru

Last week my Welsh Grandfather would of been 110 years old.

In his family tree it struck me how many of the children had lost one or both parents before the age of 10 due to industrial illness or accident.

He was saved by WW2 getting him out of the mines that killed his father at a young age.

Doncaster were made to work for the win against Kettering.

Watching the BBC footage and it just reminds me how little the BBC cares about anything outside the Premiership. They can barely get the right player names or pronunciation and are so wanting a cupset that they can not do fair commentary.

Just got back from seeing Wicked (Part One) with @adambateman.bsky.social and @aitwobecky.bsky.social. Excellent film! It does the stage version justice, and there's loads of Easter eggs for fans to spot. It's going to be a very long interval...

I wonder if this 1904 soldiers service record shows someone related to my family. Looks at signature 'Dangerous Lunatic', hmm sounds like they could be.

My favourite female football player Pakistan's Nadia Khan has returned to Doncaster Belles team following her ACL injury and a successful time with Karachi city winning the National Cup.

Very happy to see her back.

Doncaster vs Salford in the end Jon Taylor never came on. It was close, he had a tactics talk, was handed his shirt, Billy Sharp then scored, and Taylor sat down. A little applause for him as he warmed up down the line which he appreciated.

Doncaster vs Salford today. The big story for me will be the return of Jon Taylor, who was so unlucky with us with injuries, and in my opinion was rushed back into the team on a few occasions resulting in him not doing himself justice and ultimately leading to him having longer layoffs with injury.

Took Katy to Sheffield for her MRI scan at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Top tip. Never wait for the lifts at floor A as they rarely come down that far and when they do they are packed. Expect a wait between 10-30 minutes before there is enough room for a wheelchair.

Having seen years of CCTV and police footage of Criminals committing crimes they all seem to have one thing in common, the Criminal wears Nike.

'Just Do It' maybe needs to be changed to 'Think About It'

'This Is Jinsy'

Watching all the episodes and it is as good as back in 2010 not aged a bit. Daily Greet. I'm now off to see the mystery pond.

At this time of Remembrance I thought of my 1st Cousin 3 times removed who was born in 1897. He attempted to join up to be with his friends twice but having had TB as a 6 year old he only had 1 functioning lung so he was condemned to live as too sick to die in a war.

Watched Doncaster Belles Vs Durham in the Women's National League today.

Belles lost 2-3, but it wasn't a bad performance. First match of the new season so nothing decided after just this one game.

Feels a little disconnected being at the Eco-Power between team and fans, needs to grow into it.

Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Olympics are always too long but with unmissable bits of entertainment mixed in. Enjoyed the random guy eating his noodles and the stage security with his takeaway cup of soda.
