In 2024, 87% of experimental procedures carried out on #monkeys in #UK laboratories were for regulatory purposes, including cruel toxicity (poisoning) testing. All these tests involved Endangered long-tailed macaques imported from #Mauritius & #Vietnam.

We have joined a global appeal by @AsiaforAnimals Coalition to the #Mauritius government to provide protection to long-tailed #macaques & to end their capture for export, breeding & use in experiments.
