I thought that as well but was corrected that there is a longer video that shows him making it to the bridge to join the second gunman, grab another gun and resume shooting.

Well, in this particular case, the assailant went to the bridge, retrieved another gun and shot more people, then got shot himself. So, shooting him in the knee would have saved more lives and maybe his own.

The irony is delicious. We have been trying to dismantle the military industrial complex for decades in a sensible way. This way will destroy the system and the economy at the same time. Brilliant!
