Australia is way hotter than its neighbors- Papua New Guinea is closer to the equator but way cooler. Why? Maybe the lack of forest/bush?

New Zealand seems to have a preponderance of American brands - some that are totally gone in the US. Woolworths is one of the two main supermarket chains! Funny to see Circle K and Bed Bath & Beyond stores here, too.

Sure, the northern latitudes get aurora borealis. But Southern California gets the glorious sunsets.
