I’ll echo what many others have said here: if you can, please please please donate to your local food bank. We’ve all seen the headlines. Things are about to get brutal…real bad for a lot of people. Yes in your community. Please save “They voted for this” for later.
The unspecified deterioration of pundits who remain on X is weird, sad, and puzzling, all at the same time.

DOGE was the alien species from Independence Day, except nowhere near as interesting.
hey don't be so hard on yourselves; it delivered oceans of sensitive government and citizen data to billionaires

Not sure what to make of that Marist poll 14 point Dem lead in the congressional ballot. I suppose time will tell. If it’s not an outlier hoooo boy.

Sometimes, randomly, it hits me in the solar plexus just how bad 2024 was. 11 people in my life died, and then…all the other stuff that happened. It seems surreal and I often have to pause to wonder if I’ve really dealt with it. Not a complaint, rant or whine, just a mildly jarring wtf moment.

That last sentence will live in my head a long time.
79% of all homebuyers are repeat homebuyers, and the median age of all homebuyers reached an all-time high of 59 years old.

This is the world that Boomers wanted.

In a new phase 3 trial, people randomly assigned to receive a flu shot made with modified mRNA were 34.5% less likely to be diagnosed with an influenza-like illness than people given a standard flu shot made with inactivated virus.

We need to stop the anti-science attacks against mRNA vaccines!

People like Homan have been dunking on Catholicism since the country was founded. Not defending the Church’s many (many) sins and crimes, but this has been a deeply rooted thing in our history.

Guessing even Fr. Coughlin was looked at with suspicion from these quarters.
The U.S. bishops defended migrant families. Tom Homan snapped. Nan Hayworth called Pope Leo a “tool of our enemies.” Tim Burchett accused the church of getting rich off of sex trafficking.

Matt Walsh, Lara Logan, and the rest joined in. This is what MAGA anti-Catholicism looks like.
“Pope Leo Is a Tool of Our Enemies”: Homan Leads MAGA Attacks as Hayworth, Others Pile On
It’s the latest MAGA attack on Pope Leo’s pro-immigrant stance. Disgraced border chief Tom Homan — caught taking a $50,000 bribe in a Cava takeout bag — led the charge against Leo and the bishops.
