An increase in racial profiling has led to the detainment of more than 170 U.S. citizens across the country, according to recent ProPublica reporting. We saw this firsthand at the events in Wilder, where everyone was detained, including children and citizens.

This is unacceptable and dangerous.

In 1967, we represented legendary drag queen Sir Lady Java when the LAPD threatened to arrest the owner of the club where she danced. This case was just one small part of her lifelong advocacy of queer expression.

We carry her legacy with us today as we defend our communities in joy and style.

Cecilia Gentili was a fearless advocate for trans people and sex workers. She successfully helped to repeal New York’s “Walking While Trans” law that police unjustly used to stop and frisk countless trans women.

Cecilia passed away in 2024, but her legacy lives on in our fight for liberation.

Bayard Rustin was one of the most influential organizers of the civil rights movement, leading key protests like the 1963 March on Washington for racial justice.

Bayard dedicated his life to fighting for equal rights for the Black community, LGBTQ people, and economic justice.
