Drag shows featured at The Woodlands Pride and Abilene Pride did not meet this standard and remain fully legal.

But shows that are “sexual in nature” and performed in front of minors can expose drag artists to fines and jail time — and may also result in venues being fined.

In 2023, a district court declared S.B. 12 unconstitutional on five independent grounds.

This new ruling does not address most of those grounds. It explains that S.B. 12 only applies to drag shows that are “sexually oriented” and “erotic.”

🤳 Using cell phones and other devices is also prohibited within 100 feet of the voting station unless needed as assistive technology for voters with disabilities.

This includes taking photos and videos. Keep your phone off and in your pocket once you’re inside the 100-foot boundary.

❌ You can’t wear clothing or items with the names of candidates or political parties while voting.

🪧 Actively campaigning or trying to influence votes — aka electioneering — is prohibited within 100 feet of polling stations. There will be signs marking the 100-foot point.

If the name, gender marker, or photo on ID is outdated —

State law only requires that the name on your ID be “substantially similar” to the name on your voter registration.

If an election worker can't verify your identity based on your ID, you're still eligible to cast a provisional ballot.

If you’re a registered voter, you may still be able to cast a ballot if you don’t have — or no longer have — an accepted form of ID.

You’ll need to fill out a “reasonable impediment declaration” at the polling location, if applicable.
