In 1972, Nina Kuscsik was the first woman to enter the New York City Marathon. The male-dominated establishment that oversaw races at the time claimed women risk infertility and could even lose their uteruses by running marathons, but Nina was one of many who proved them wrong.

Cecilia Gentili was a fearless advocate for trans people and sex workers. She successfully helped to repeal New York’s “Walking While Trans” law that police unjustly used to stop and frisk countless trans women.

Cecilia passed away in 2024, but her legacy lives on in our fight for liberation.
