I was at a Trek convention a few years ago. The DS9 panel was small, just Nana, Alexander Siddig, and Chase Masterson. All three talked about how they tried to make the show more overtly queer but "it was the '90s." Then Nana said "On DS9, we had the Trill as an analogy for being transgender..."

He's in a handful of Big Finish audios as guest characters. Was a pleasant surprise when I noticed.
