Both, lol. There is such a great buildup of dread throughout the series that is just continuously escalating and escalating with the power of the ideon as well as the isolation of the solo ship, and be invoked is just an emotional masterpiece.

Yeah, that’s true, and they also had the second in command as well, and Sheryl to an extent. Would you say Gundam is worth watching? It’s been on my list for quite a while I’m just kind of afraid that it would be like your case; that I had already seen the best with ideon.

“and love the theme of unqualified civilians having to grow strong to survive in a brutal war.” I thought that theme had somewhat transferred to ideon with cosmo and kasha, and the solo ship.

I kind of felt the same way on zambot 3 (like I probably should’ve started with it before ideon) but I still really liked that show as a precursor to what tomino would do later on. Gundam’s still on my watchlist.

Oh yeah, the whole cast is very strong (probably one of my favorite parts about the show) and gijie’s cool, I really like the character Arc that gijie goes through. Still need to watch more Tomino shows, but I’ve heard that he will at times have a lighter show after the dark one (zabungle).

I really like Kasha and giji as well, but yeah, she was a very good character.
