Still a lot of testing to do but my gut says a couple racks of GB10s behind a Guacamole server will make more sense for my university than expanding the subscription pit to handle bursty problems... maybe everything old comes back around?

I'm in higher ed, so the problems are different than tech but the solutions might be parallel: I'm testing GB10 systems in a remote access lab. Students will make mistakes that can burn through subscription limits fast, but local compute means the cost is just power & already-sunk capital...

I would argue that it is much more than "efforts to bankrupt" us: the Alberta separatist movement has many financial links to the US, American-owned media shapes our news cycle, and US intelligence is meddling on socials to disrupt and influence our democracy.

I'm just saying: I haven't met anyone yet who has seen Charles on Christmas Eve with their own eyes so there's one more possibility at least...

How are there ever going to be consequences for ice lying repeatedly, in every press release it seems? Judges must understand that lying is the default behaviour for these organizations by now, how can they accept their testimony in court??

The US is not a signatory to the ICC and has severe sanctions against several ICC judges, including a Canadian. They have no jurisdiction to enter the US or try a US citizen unless the US signs on.

You just reposted and wrote 4 skeet's about a dictionary ad. While I understand the concern, they didn't announce an AI product, they announced the latest edition of their century-old reference book, but you're mad because they made you care? The pathos doesn't match the "crime" here...

If AI was a child, it would have a Habsburg chin from all the incestuous corporate relationships that spawned it. Diagram credit to Anthony Restaino.

The moral of this story is that it works both ways: documenting bad behaviours and horrible people can provide effective contemporaneous notes years later.

I wrote a *furious* complaint about Columbia House on USENET after a manager cursed me out when I tried to cancel. He fraudulently signed me again but when collections showed up years later, I printed those posts and asked if they'd like to see if a judge believed I signed up again that week.
