reasons why justifying that is dumb: 1. free shit is cool 2. the money likely doesn't even go to the devs, especially for games that are priced like this 3. it normalizes this 4. you don't even "own" what you buy 5. there's also probably dlc or something

I am pretty sure the only way to change that is by trying it several times until you build up enough comfort for it, but idk, it makes me feel strange practicing talking when everybody else in vc can just do it easily. Childhood trauma probably, something about being excluded from everywhere

like, trauma is so weird and annoying; I still can't talk to people properly because I have associations between random things that make me very sad and anxious whenever it comes to interacting with others. Like using my voice to talk is uncomfortable, or if I'm not as good as them at some thing
