In Skylanders Superchargers, the character Stormblade was originally going to be a peacock but because a little girl [one of the play-testers] pointed out that only male peacocks have the vibrant colors Stormblade's beta design contained, they decided to change her species to a lark.

For Zane and Basil, most definitely!
They love watching sitcoms, listening to R&B/Soul music, playing video games, baking sweets (though Zane is much better at it) and sometimes just cuddling.
Also, their ideal date night almost always starts with getting massive amounts of takeout for dinner.
