I've got a bundle of thoughts about this kit but in general it was fun. A much easier and straightforward build than WfM or GQuuuuuux kits but the difference in posability is tangible.

Went for a more moderate weathering style and tried water slide decals out for the first time.

I've been enjoying how (relatively) simple this kit is but I've run into the first real sign of its age. Despite a nice amount of posability in the ankle joints (with forward and backward movement coupled with a ball joint) the hip joints are quite basic and the rotation isn't really there.

After making nothing but Witch from Mercury and GQuuuuuux kits for a while, going back to an old kit like this honestly feels incredible. The head is three components, the main chest something like seven with only a few more for the torso and backpack.

So simple!

I had a horrendous time building this kit and wouldn't recommend it. 40 parts per leg is too many. Super fiddly, some weird design choices. Awkward and frustrating.

That said, it photographs beautifully and can hit some really cool poses.

Combining costume season with her fantasy origin, it's the elf modelling the "Sexy Owlbear" costume.

At this point I think I owe the elf either an outfit consisting of actual clothing or should just go ahead and do some of those October drawing challenges.

I'm glad I had the experience of the one I painted pink because this kit has some gnarly seam lines and some colour correction that's really best done prior to assembly.

Still, fun kit. Very dramatic.

Working on another Caliban since the pink one was the result of a failed paint job. Treating myself to some minor colour correction and highlights.

I got some pearlescent white to use on this kit but it went really bad almost immediately. To get around that I decided to just go all in on an alternative scheme.

First time painting a Gunpla using Ray Studio paints and a brush. I'm happy with how it worked out but I should have thinned my paints.
