Also on the committees are a number of prominent New Yorkers who are Jewish but who have not made their Jewish identity a primary feature of their public personas.”

Let's get to work on an affordable NYC for all!!!

“Other notable Jews on the transition committees include Jonah Boyarin, a member of @jfrejnyc.bsky.social who helped craft city antisemitism training; Ruth Messinger, the former leader of @ajws-humanrights.bsky.social; Masha Pearl of The Blue Card, which supports needy Holocaust survivors.”

I got kicked of a Biden White House party (that I was invited to) for calling out the genocide 😉

Also, our Mayor-Elect just called out Israel's genocide, and US support for it, by name, in the Oval Office. With little push back.

Likely a first, under any president.

Yes, and Zohran called him a fascist to his face.

Nothing about this meeting was cozying up. It was Zohran doing his best, against what he would've personally loved - to help the people he was elected to protect.

To me, this is about negotiating with the devil, without giving him anything.

If this were anyone else, I would be best extremely suspicious of their motives. In this case, this was literally done to prevent, by as much possible, a repetition of Chicago and Portland. If it will work, is left to see - but this meeting might've prevented many future ICE raids in NYC.

I don't know, I am Jewish, second coming has no meaning to me... all I mean is that to me, having known him for years, this meeting was expected, not surprising at all.
