My brilliant, beautiful mom died 18 years ago today. I miss her every day and feel like a whole existence of time has been born, grown, and matured since she passed. I was 33 when she died and not a breath has gone by that she’s not missed. I’d sell my soul to get her back.
My young, gorgeous, healthy mom in 1972, pregnant with me, not yet aware she was already dying of a rare genetic condition that would betray her and deny us of her life so early.

Another birthday in our house, this time for my puppy baby Jimmy who was supposed to live forever so he could turn 25 today. Oh my heart breaks I miss him so. But celebrating that I loved him and he me is just so special. ❤️🎂😘

Six months old, Brad is self-squeezed into an empty fruit bowl on the dining room table in my first apartment, mid yawn. His eyes are squeezed shut from the yawn which makes the striping from his tabby markings join together to give the exaggerated illusion of eyes bulging on the top of his head, similar to Felix the Cat. Wise old Brad on his 18th and last birthday, thin and blind with alopecia, yet every bit his loyal and loving personality, sunning himself in the warmth of a streak of spring sunshine through our front door.
