Different kind of commission. Illustration ideas using washy acrylic and coloured pencil. No idea what I'm doing but fun to have a play.

Not too far off with this one now. Made the background a little more dramatic. Now need to work on the ferns.
Thanks to @logicaphotography.bsky.social for use of photograph 💚

Little pop up 2week display or art at Mangia Mangia in Lichfield. Also they do the best pistachio filled croissants in the world.

My magnolia is doing weird things. In twenty years it's never produced whatever this is? Fruit?

Elgar's Dream of Gerontius conducted by Kazuki Yamada with the wonderful CBSO + CBSO chorus who were phenomenal.
Sadly no Toby Spence but Benjamin Hulett was brilliant, as were Jess Dandy and Roderick Williams.

A chubby crucian carp on the way. Found a lovely little oval frame so painting this on acrylic primed cardboard. Who knows if this will work!
Lots to do and some hornwort weed for movement.

This little bee painting I've started made me think of Brian Patten's brilliant poem, The Bee's Last Journey to the Rose.

Acrylic on stretched canvas. Fox in progress. May change to oil for a softer finish but at the moment quite liking the edgier lines of the acrylic.

I follow a brilliant account in Instagram called Wildlife Kate. Her photograph of a dead robin, found beautiful, unmarked and cradled in cupped hands seemed symbolic and made me want to try and capture in paint.
