Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Incredible emotion by Chadwick Boseman in his final performance.

Big Ten title game vs Michigan. BF lost his mind at the final call.

Tevaun Smith TD in the 2015 Big Ten title game comes close, but Gus reeled it back in much faster on that one.

Looking pretty similar to their first 20 minutes against Iowa State. Problem is, Texas Tech is a lot better than ISU.

I've heard horror stories from folks at Kinnick for Ohio State in about 1993 or so. Only thing worse than the weather was the score.

I was curious about some options for superior debuts. Very, very few come even close, but here's a truly crazy one: after sitting out as a freshman due to NCAA rules, Kareem scored 56 points in his career debut for UCLA against USC in December 1966.

Bonkers: Koa Peat is only the second freshman this century (and perhaps ever) to go for at least 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in his collegiate debut.

Cole Anthony (vs. Notre Dame) in 2019 is the other: 34, 11 and 5.

Peat did it against the third-ranked reigning national champs 😂

Found the numbers.

10/18/09 vs Tennessee
Tom Brady, 1st Half
24/28, 345 yards, 5 TDs, Pats were up 45-0 at HT.

Off the top of my head, I think I'd go with Tom Brady in the snow vs the Titans in 2009 or 10. It was insane.

With a super fun QB who has an insane story (didn't start a varsity game at QB in HS).

Seemed to me like they were rolling him as part of a seizure response. I know that's standard practice for epilepsy patients, but I'm not sure what the standard should be for someone who might be suffering a seizure AND have a brain/spine injury.

I must know--Would players get flagged for unsportsmanlike group celebration if they recreated the infamous never-used CyHawk family?

Quick count is showing me that Ferentz was 19-7 vs Minnesota coming into today, including 9 of the last 10.

Fry was 12-8 vs Minnesota.

3 outs, 5 runs. Give him the clean inning to get warmed up and have no one on base, and give him a lead big enough that the tying run isn't even on deck when he faces his minimum 3rd batter.

The problem for a lot of Iowa fans is many of us for so long wanted them to honor Duke Slater, so it was awesome for them to name the field after him. Now, they've moved the "Duke Slater Field" logo to the EZ where no one on TV sees it and put the JD logo in its place.

Money>History, apparently

Last time it happened in a "normal" season was a 4-game losing streak to finish 2015.

0-5 to start 2020.

For all the times he's been too conservative, today he's definitely erring on the side of being too aggressive. Emphasis on "erring".

Right. And it is really hard for other sports to even give a player the opportunity to do something like it.

In looking at some baseball history, the closest might actually be another Dodger. Orel Hershiser in game 2 of the '88 WS threw a complete game shutout and was 3 for 3 with 2Bs at the plate.
