American sadly. I actually like Paul LeMat better as Omar but I miss the other changes like little bits of music and "I'm sorry DICKNOSE"

there must have been 100+ images shared so I hope they get put out as an artbook or something soon. I'm going to ask.

vibrating hammers!

just got it online, it took a while to find one though!

yeah the sound is beautiful! it took a few months of searching online before I found one a) with all the keys in working order and b) that I could afford!

each key triggers a vibrating hammer, which is what causes the tremolo depending on how hard you hit it!

thanks, nah nothing I really want to change.. I just wish I could make episodes faster, you know how that is haha. this season is taking forever and it's not even because of the episode content itself, just a lot of pesky real-life shit getting in the way!

yeah leaving room to wing it is so important for keeping it fun. maybe you have a broad plan but you leave certain things TBD. a hard part of doing Sublo is feeling like I'm locked into executing whatever I decided ages ago when I wrote these episodes.

It's a tricky balance, because an important part of a sitcom is setting up patterns of the characters' lives, so when those patterns are disturbed it actually means something. You kind of need some "normal" eps for that to work, but they can be interesting in other ways. (sorry for the ramble)

I'm sure that's obvious but I forget sometimes. The fewer episodes you have, the more important the content of each one is. Every ep should bring something new-- a new side of a character, the world, production experimentation, etc. You never want to feel like you're making "another normal one."

Yeah it's tough doing any art these days, but especially long-form like a series, where unless it goes viral all you have to sustain it is your own enthusiasm. I think the two most important things are keeping the production process fun, and making sure each episode matters for you personally.
