Unfortunately the judge only ruled against Halligan‘s appointment, and not on the merits of the (garbage) case itself.

Hmmm... a lot of issues would be automatically avoided if there's no "Robux" equivalent, but it would seem like you'd need some sort of centralized version to police safety. I wouldn't expect every kid running their own service to be able to totally keep predators off their servers.

I was just thinking about that! I was originally thinking of a company pitching a new “like Roblox but not evil” competing project, but if they’re a commercial company there will always be the temptation to turn evil.

The really vexing thing is that the underlying *technical* foundation of Roblox, their user content development tools is impressive and *in theory* should be a great avenue to get kids into computer science. But Roblox lacks a *moral* foundation.

When people get that rich, they can squash critics with libel suits, drop hundreds of millions on political patronage, buy media outlets and much darker stuff without breaking a sweat. They can't be locked in here with us.

The libertarian line is that other people's wealth doesn't hurt us and the only reason you'd want leveling is because you're a envious. In fact, when people get too rich and powerful, they break the system.
