Finally a data breach settlement with some actual bite. I'm sure this will really incentivize them to treat user data with care and top security going forward. 🙄

Actually it doesn't! Which is great, honestly, because I already have it on the Strangelove single. While there is a bit of overlap between these collections and the singles, there are quite a lot of new remixes I hadn't heard before. (Collections are 3 CDs each but I renumbered them into one list.)

Almost posted this before I realized that "having your own domain and web page" was different from "being on the internet"

Using one image how long have you bee on the internet?

Tank Girl was another solid soundtrack featuring a fascinating cross-section of mid-90s alternative bands. (Though I honestly can't stand the "Girl U Want" version on here because it's excruciatingly slow.)

Revisiting some old soundtracks and damn I had forgotten just how loaded The Crow soundtrack was with industrial/metal heavyweights. Granted, not all original for the soundtrack, but several were (Burn, Dark Souls, Golgatha at least).

Just noticed the OCR on one of my postcards interpreted M.I.T. as M.L.T., LOL.

Still trying to figure out why this building has upwards of 30 vents on its roof. Bad planning? A joke? The building houses a Dunkin Donuts, a dentist office, and a USAF recruitment center.

What perfect album came out when you were sixteen?

Who killed cock Robin?
Who killed cock Robin?
I said the sparrow with my bow and arrow
It was I, only it was I,

Proud of my local brewery finally getting a proper sign after 5 years of operation. Due to bad timing they did a "soft" opening in early 2020. I visited them frequently to fill up growlers. These days they're too popular to visit regularly, but I do dip in occasionally to see what's on tap.

The wife and I celebrated our 31st anniversary seeing Ministry, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, and Die Krupps in concert. Was a great show but have to say my 54yo legs were not too keen standing/dancing for 4 hours! Finally got to see Al live, and performing Twitch/With Sympathy-era material. 👍

Has one of the prettiest title screens of any Lucas game. It's also playable in the latest betas of DREAMM: dreamm.aarongiles.com/beta/

Accidentally clicked on the Copilot button while search for system requirements for an old DOS game. Now I have to emulate a freakin' Pentium 386. 🙄

And that's not even considering the fact that all their data structures are described with 1-based offsets. Like, who does that???

Update: Another version has been found, bringing the official total up to an even 50! (Next highest total is Rebel Assault II with 31 versions, followed by Indy Last Crusade at 30 and Sam & Max at 28.)

A surprising amount of work I end up doing with DREAMM is sorting out and identifying all the official releases of the various games. Currently The Secret of Monkey Island wins with the most known variants (just under 50).

Was recently reminded of my first "feature" in BYTE magazine, from November 1992.

Weird to remember back in the day that JPEG decoding/viewing was a novelty. The OG browser NCSA Mosaic didn't show JPEGs inline; rather, it relied on external programs to display them. This became my claim to fame.

Had occasion to dump out the a list of "albums" (aka folders) in my music collection and since I love statistics, I counted everyone I had 8 or more entries from. Top few (esp. Depeche Mode) are a bit skewed due to having lots of singles/remix albums, but overall not too many surprises.

Happy to announce that DREAMM 4.0b1 is now available for download: dreamm.aarongiles.com/beta/

If you do actually test out network play, let me know good/bad how it goes. I have only tested it locally, so I'm kind of nervous to see real-world results!

DREAMM 4.0 will be heading to beta pretty soon, which means I've finalized the list of supported games. 15 new titles this time around, including all the Lucas Learning titles and the glut of Star Wars titles released around the launch of the prequels.
