I had a wild experience today where a person texted me and I thought it was just some kind of spam, so I replied STOP to try and unsubscribe.

Then I got this text from 911, followed by an actual call from 911 checking if I had an emergency. Turns out a scammer made an actual group chat w/ 911!

Still working on this little spider running game. What do you think of the new spider?

Also, what do you think is happening with the hills? What do you *want* to be happening here?

More games should have lots of pretty cubes in them.

Way ahead of ya

Also, there are giant mysterious titans that players can make appear, such as Bethemotep:

When those head/totems are unlocked, a new node in the season map appears, and players can go one more level deep in their run. There's a global event feed announcing when things get unlocked. Concept:

And the way the new worlds are unlocked in a particular seasons is that these giant heads need to receive enough player sacrifices

The players would also get to decide which features/powerups get added to the world. Here's a mockup of an "A/B Choice" artifact where players get to vote by sacrificing themselves into one of two holes.

The real twist is that the game plays out in 2-week seasons, where each season has new worlds in a map that are unlocked when players achieving collective goals.

Crucially, this involves worlds that are created via an in-game level editor and shared/upvoted by the community.

Ok I genuinely need some input. I have this game concept and I can't tell if the idea is just too fucking weird to have an actual audience. There's a little "beta signup" at the end of this thread so you can register your interest to tell me if I should build this! You could also repost!

I assume it's this bit, combined with the fact that Xalavier works insanely hard:

I've made a lot of weird stuff, but this one is really out there

Thinking about making this into a $1 game on Steam where for each person who downloads it, another spider gets added to the world. Would you buy it?

As someone who named my horses in Zelda:Breath of the Wild Horse1, Horse2, and Horse3, I've gotta say I really like Kojima's style here. Save that creative energy for other things.

NEAT!

Whisker Squadron: Survivor is now released out of early access on Steam, and available on PS5. So proud of what we did with this game and I hope you all enjoy it if you play!

This 1.0 update includes voice acted characters, a new endgame, and a TON of quality of life improvements.

I think a lot about how lucky we were to have released Race The Sun at the tail end of 2013 on Steam.

Disney+ just let me know they're upgrading my subscription terms.
I thought this was pretty audacious 😅

I don't know what any of this says, but this section of the Taiwan age ratings board sign-in page is really something

20 year game industry coder here.
I keep seeing posts like this and I keep being surprised at just how naive people are being about the potential for pure generative AI to somehow be the way way game are made.

These tech demos are neat, but this is never going to happen 🧵
