How did people forget that before Daniel Craig there were 20 bond movies that more or less ignored the events of the previous movie? I think that’s the advantage Bond has over every other franchise. Any Bond film could be someone’s first Bond film and they’d get it.

Totally agree. I don’t know why they needed to give it an exact year at all. I might be wrong but I don’t think the year is ever mentioned on screen in Alien. Could have very easily adjusted the timeline without causing any continuity issues.

Still not as bad as Blade Runner’s timeline. We were supposed to have human like androids 6 years ago 😂
