Was recently sent this paper that basically shows government policies respond almost exclusively to the desires of rich constituents. I feel like it's gotten worse since publication too.

One of the most important lessons I've learned in business is that people who are immoral in their personal lives are also immoral professionally. Someone who breaks an oath to their spouse (an actual human in their life) is not going to be bothered about an oath to a constitution or country.

I live for pre-ordering books from authors I love (like CJA) because I inevitably lose track of the release date and then something great just shows up in my library! Bad days turn great by a surprise book appearing. Like putting a $20 in the pocket of a winter coat at the end of season.

This is part of why Lois being a Pulitzer-winning investigative reporter has always been so cool. Her appeal isn't that she's Superman's girlfriend/wife, it's that she's a total badass without super powers.
