2. We don’t communicate moderation decisions via DM. In fact we almost never use DM to ever communicate with you.
3. Yes. It’s a scam and we are trying to clean it up.

That should be addressed with a big initiative in the near future. But also - giving feedback to users is unlikely to address their impatience based on experience.

Longer term it’s impossible to do verification on email alone so we’ll have to bring in an ID system if we ever want to expand that outwards. There’s privacy and financial costs associated with that approach though - with some ID providers charging a significant amount per verification.

I think the goal there was to ensure that these notable individuals and/or higher risk accounts (a bank for example) have a signal of credibility and legitimacy associated it. There’s no guarantee of accuracy but we try our best to highlight these accounts.

Lot of trade offs there. We actually wanted a fully decentralised vouching system that was more aligned with our ethos. Unfortunately users did not like that approach and wanted blue checks from a central perspective.

Interesting question. I’m guessing there are reasons for no since we pay per assessments but it might be possible. My guess is that it would take a decent amount of architectural work and hard to prioritize with everything else we need to deliver. Now that we have devex folks though!

Yeah I went all Fuji after I stopped shooting 35+ weddings a year ago that was great for a while until having a kid made casual photography very difficult. I got to know the camera repair store rather well…

The account has already been suspended, and we have a dedicated team only for child safety, but these types of accounts are continually evading detections through changing terms and even the emojis that are being used.
