Sunrise was at 4:15am this morning here in Cullen. An hour walking around the dock yielded some good results.

The Hover does a good job of following and avoiding trees and the concrete supports. I plan on taking it to the MTB trail and see how it performs.

Great bike shop Vitamin G ride with about 60 other riders tonight. Nasty crosswinds took out 5 riders in the lead group. Stay safe out there.

I always have a bike that is my "winter" ride. I keep the drivetrain clean and the frame is usually a mess of mud and crap. I washed that bike last week. So of course it's raining this week. It's the Swiss Cross's turn to get nasty. #todaysbeautifulbike.

This Kona is painted in a striking purple color. Key features are a real head tube badge (!!), post mount brakes, and comes with a FD mount to convert to 2x. #todaysbeautifubike

I've not done a #todaysbeautifulbike post in several months. This Ritchey Montebello kicks us off again.

But you will see it labeled as a Cat 4 climb on my Strava segment list for the day's ride.

I was stunned. How could I not know about a .5 mile, 10% average, 300 foot climb in my area? So I hopped on my bike and headed to check it out. Turns out it wasn't as advertised. As it it wasn't anything but a normal 1% hill.

I live in Kansas. Think what you want but there is plenty of climbing here of the rolling variety. A typical gravel century can see 4-9k feet of climbing. I came across the segment "Southwest Butler Road Climb" when searching for a place to do climbing intervals in the Wichita area.

I had to go back and swap bikes 2 miles into yesterday‘s commute due to a tire going flat. Found it. All set up and ready to go for Monday.

Slinky. Fully recovered from yesterday’s mystery dunk.

The ride goes south and the 200k hits the Medicine Lodge area which apparently has mesas in the Gypsum Hills. I've lived 2 hours away and never knew. I've also never been there yet. (Stock photo below)
